Where life is lived in half.

A chain of mountains,

Peaks of snow;

Dividing two lands,

Two kingdoms,

Each living in isolation.

One kingdom facing the East,

The other facing the West.

Its people did not dare to

Cross the borders to

Reach to the other side

Of the rocky eminence;

It was forbidden.

The law that was never broken.

She would witness the sunrise,

The soft pastel colors of the sky,

The singing of the morning birds,

The tight chill of dawn.

The adrenaline fully charged

For the ebullience of the day.

But since the mountains

Were magnificently high,

After noon the sun would no longer

Be seen by her hazel-colored eyes.

She had always thought that

Sunset was defined just before noon.

But He,

He knew of sunset.

He knew of its fiery skies

And its violet flames.

He knew of its fireflies and

Its chirping crickets of the night.

He knew of the calmness of

The dark as it laid its bed

Over the daylight.

But true sunrise,

That he did not know,

Only the one that comes

Right after noon.

Sad, don’t you think?

If only the mountains

Would digest itself

Or move elsewhere,

Perhaps around the two kingdoms

Rather than between them.

If only.

But Life will not be content

Unless it forms obstacles

For one to tumble down and struggle

And see how much

Something is significant to one’s heart.

Well, She’s halfway to that

Cold frosty summit,

Hoping someone there

Would be waiting for her

To share the true testimony

Of the Star of the day.

Redefine

We’re sitting on the ground; he’s leaning on the tree, and I’m leaning on him.

I made sure I got a lot of cushions; one behind his back in case the tree is rough and the rest just scattered around us.

We’ve set up a projector just a couple of meters away.

He says we could watch whatever I like. I say then I’d watch you.

He smiles softly and asks again. So, I choose an anime he’s watching that I haven’t yet started.

Sitting between his legs, his arms hugging me close, my hands interlocked with his, his fingers gently stroking mine.

We did not need to bring any flashlights; the stars are shining above us.

The sky is a witness for a compassion two beings have willingly shared.

The wind exists in transparent waves, blowing my hair that is brushed across his face.

He giggles, pushing away my hair to one side, as he sinks his face into my neck.

He holds me tighter; my back is pressed against his torso, so warm and comforting.

I can feel his breaths; his facial hair like feathers teasing my collar.

A prey of a vampire who I have chosen on my own.

I call his name. He interrupts with that one word that can clench the muscle in my chest and electrify my senses, sending a shock of haziness to my brain.

He smirks, knowing the effect of his bewitchment, but still, he says it again – this time, closer to my ear.

My eyes shot open.

Life is being nourished by his proximity.

Attention diverted from the perfect date to focus on our existence as one entity.

Where time’s only definition is merely…our existence.

First encounter

It’s the sound of his breath as he gasps and swallows nervously.

It’s the sound of the air he slowly lets out, as if I’ll steal away his breaths.

It’s the sound of his steady heart that was stuck on one beat, starting to accelerate – one thump after the other.

You can see him being aware of his heart pumping so fast like he’s on a rollercoaster ride that just went down the slope.

You can see his eyes glaring right through me, like he’s trying to read my mind.

You can see his eyes tracing every detail in my face, my neck, my collarbone, my shoulders.. then back to my face as I raise an eyebrow or two.

Then a smile on his face is formed.

The way his skin just extends from the midline to the sides,

His lips stretching, eyes drooping, cheeks puffing.

Oh those droopy eyes of his;

I would kiss them one by one, as a sign of gratitude that he found pleasure in a face and body like mine.

I would also brush my nose against his nose, softly kiss the tip of his nose –

And find him take advantage as he steals away a kiss..

I would be caught off guard that I shriek and quickly recover as I indulge myself within the grasp of his eager mouth.

Leo and his Tsubusa

I have always had an eye for Lions. Always seen myself resemble a Lion, with all it’s mighty and glory. And for my love for dragons, I saw it was fit for my fantasy of my Lion-self to tame a dragon. When I roamed the Earth to protect it from evil, my Dragon could be my wings or my “tsubusa” to protect the sky from any harm. The following piece describes one of my imaginary scenes.

Whenever it’s time for sunset, the Leo of this world would be flown into the sky by his magnificent Tsubusa.
As the Dragon spreads his flames to color the blue skies orange and red, the mighty Lion roars to warn its fellow ones that it is time for darkness to fold..

Haunted Dream

You run towards the doors, opening them, and find yourself at the edge of a mountain. You reach up to a cloud, because maybe if you touch it, you might feel cold..real? I don’t know – anything. You’re on your tip toes – dammit! You’re falling at high speed, like gravity is sucking you merciless.
Then you wake up. And once again. It’s just. A dream.
